The Cedars

The Cedars is a new group which will be starting in the autumn and will cater solely for those in Welcome Baptist Church who are aged over 60. The group aims to provide fun, fellowship, adventure, worship and spiritual encouragement for those who like the cedars of Lebanon will bear fruit in old age (not that 60 is old age!!) and stay fresh and green.

Initially The Cedars will meet on a bi-monthly basis and to initiate a programme of wide interests. It is likely that during the winter months the programme will be based on activities at the church. During the summer a programme of visits will be arranged.

Details of the programme will appear here as things are firmed up

Cedars - Thursday 24th March at 2 pm - Philippines Calling
Two years ago Lesley Gomez who works in the Philippines came to Cedars and
told us some of the amazing stories about the orphans and street children with
whom she works. Lesley will be in the UK in March and has agreed to come and
see us again at Cedars. She will also tell us about some amazing rescues from
the major floods that struck the islands last year.
Sheilagh Squires will also be with us to entertain us with her musical
monologues.

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will florish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green.
